I am using Catalina 10.15.2 on my MacBook pro; we have a new HP LJ Pro MFP M281fdw on our home network; printing is no problem and the network self-test reports all aspects as PASS and EXCELLENT. when i try to scan i get an error message "Failed to open a connection to the device (-21355)". I have reinstalled the printer twice, restarted both devices, and looked at all my settings - scanning still not available. I used another M281fdw in my last job and could scan with no problems using the same laptop (though older Mac OS). any help to correct is greatly appreciated.

HP Easy Scan is not yet compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina. We're actively working to restore complete functionality. I suggest using HP Smart app or Apple Image capture to scan from your MAC. Kindly refer to this document to know how.
