HP Envy 7800 Series When saving a scan, I can see a preview, but when I press "save" the pdf document that is created has only blank pages. This has only just started happening. I have a Mac. There is not problem with Android. Any ideas? Should I just uninstall and reinstall the app?

I had the same problem Anthony with my Envy 6255 MFD, once I updated to the "Ventura" OS. I was told by HP that my printer, only 2 years old, was now obsolete and it was suggested that I purchase the model replacing it, the 6055e. I did that, but I'm not happy with it. It has less functionality than the 6255 and I'm not happy with HP Smart either, which requires you to login.
I also posted on the Apple forum in a similar thread here:
I didn't try "AirPrint" since I already bought a new printer, but maybe it'll work for you?

I have an HP ENVY 5660, hooked it up to Airprint and it did not fix problem of touchscreen save to pdf only giving blank pages. There are workarounds suggested in this discussion that I have used successfully however, some not needing HP Smart: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-Copying/Easy-Scan-saving-blank-scans-after-update-to-V...

Hello, what happens if you try Mac Image Capture?
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners.
There choose your HP Printer >> Click on Scanner >> Open Scanner.
Don't forget to click on "Auto Selection", and choose Mark Entire Picture or something.

Thank you for taking the time to give advice. I am going to update my Mac tonight - maybe this fixes the problem (or makes it worse). I have discovered I can receive my scans if I send to myself via email. It's a bit of a work-around but I get my scans. What a shame - HP - should be better.

SAME ISSUE: Running MacOS Ventura (13.0.1). Have an HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw. The scan feature works well as it always has and shows the pages of the scan properly rendered in the Easy Scan app, but when saving the scan to my Mac desktop the document is blank. Pretty sure this is related to the Ventura OS upgrade.
Any advice or solutions greatly appreciated.

I recently posted this on another thread:
There have been given many workarounds in different threads, but the one that worked for me to get back to only using the touchscreen was: First open HP Easy Scan (even though eventually you won't need it, you'll only need the touchscreen), open Preferences in the drop-down under HP Easy Scan, click on Scan to Computer, click on Scan to PDF, click on Edit, change Output type to PDF-Searchable, click Save. Then close HP Easy Scan. After I did this I was able to only use the touchscreen again and no longer just got blank pages when using Scan to PDF or Email to PDF. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my version of HP Easy Scan (1.10.0) only gives a choice of rotate or black/white background under preferences. There is no ability to choose the type of .pdf file created or other saving controls. I have never seen those options in the various version of the MacOS over the years.
