@Ibblet, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Scanned Documents on macOS Monterey!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you scanned documents using your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer on macOS 12.0 Monterey, there are several places you can check to locate your saved scans from six months ago:
Locations to Check for Scanned Files:
Default Save Location:
- Typically, scanned documents are saved in the "Documents" folder unless you specified a different folder during the scanning process.
HP Easy Scan Default Folder:
- If you used HP Easy Scan, the default folder for storing scanned files can be specified in the scan settings. Check the HP Easy Scan application settings for the save location.
HP Smart App:
- If you scanned using the HP Smart App, look for folders that might have been set as the default location for scans. This information is usually in the app settings.
Search Function:
- Use Finder’s search function by pressing Command + F and enter keywords from the file name or extension such as .pdf, .jpeg to locate the files.
iCloud Drive:
- If you opted to save your scanned files to iCloud, ensure to check your iCloud Drive for your documents.
Recent Files:
- Check the "Recents" sidebar in Finder for a quick overview of recently accessed documents, though this may not list files from six months ago.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
