My Windows 10 laptop does not find a connection for SCANNING.  My HP Scan function shows 2 "Suggested printers" but neither allows a connection to SCAN.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your HP Officejet 4630 is powered on and connected to the same network as your laptop. Both devices should be on the same WiFi network for scanning to work wirelessly.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. It can be particularly helpful in identifying connectivity issues.

Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service:

  • Make sure the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service is running. This service is essential for scanning on Windows. You can check and start it by:
    • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Scroll down to find "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" in the list.
