Hi @070952,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If all the lights on your printer are flashing when you try to scan, it typically indicates an error or issue with the printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
1. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
2. Check for Paper Jams
- Inspect the printer for any paper jams or obstructions that could be causing the error. Remove any jammed paper carefully.
3. Ensure Proper Setup
- Make sure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network, especially if you are trying to scan over Wi-Fi.
4. Check Scanner Glass and ADF
- Clean the scanner glass and the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) if applicable. Dust or smudges can sometimes cause scanning errors.
5. Update Printer Drivers
- Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can check for updates on the HP website or through your computer's device manager.
6. Run the Printer Troubleshooter
- On Windows, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Select your printer and click on Manage. Look for a troubleshooter option.
7. Check for Software Issues
- Make sure the scanning software on your computer is functioning correctly. Try using a different program to see if the issue persists.
8. Reset the Printer
- If your printer has a reset option, refer to the user manual for instructions to perform a factory reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
