Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Laserjet MFP M277 PCL6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When trying to scan to a document file, I keep geeting an error message that:  "Your printer cannot connect the server."  My previous laptop worked fine with the same Windows system and set-up.  What needs to be done?  The other system checks suggested by HP on the website were useless and did not solve the problem.

Hi! @laseruser1, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Community!

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

Let's continue with the troubleshooting steps now.

Try to disable the antivirus and firewall temporarily on the PC and check again.

Follow the steps below to check the WIA Service:

1. In desktop mode, press the Windows key and R at the same time, to show the run command line,  type services.msc and press the enter key.

2. Scroll down to the WIA Windows Image Acquisition.

3. Make sure that this service is running. Click Stop and then Restart.

4. Restart the computer.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program.

Press on Turn Windows features on or off.

Ensure that SMB 1.0 / CIFS File sharing is checked with a V mark (with all 3 sub options checked), if not expend it and ensure all its 3 suboptions are checked, then follow the steps on screen and reboot your PC, then check if you may see any difference.

Use the product control panel to scan a document and save it to a folder on the network.
NOTE: In order to use this feature, the product must be connected to a network and the Scan to Network
Folder feature must be conƭgured by using the Scan to Network Folder Setup Wizard (Windows) or the
HP Embedded Web Server.
1. Load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the product.
2. From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Scan button.
3. Touch the Scan to Network Folder item.
4. In the list of network folders, select the folder to which you want to save the document.
5. The control panel screen displays the scan settings.
● If you want to change any of the settings, touch the Settings button, and then change the settings.
● If the settings are correct, go to the next step.
6. Touch the Scan button to start the scan job.

Let's set a static IP address AND an external DNS for the printer:

- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.

Lastly, if nothing works reset the printer settings to factory defaults and re-setup the scan to network folder.

1. On the product control panel, touch the Setup button.
2. Scroll to and touch the Service menu.
3. Scroll to and touch the Restore Defaults button, and then touch the OK button.
The product automatically restarts.
