HP Envy 4512, Windows 10, Is it possible to change image default from color to black and white? All ideas, suggestions, comments any wish to offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, K.

Hi,
From the Start menu tap the settings (Gear) icon and select Devices, then tap Printers & Scanners.
Click your printer name and press the Manage button, then press on Printing Preferences.
Change the settings as you like to Black & White within the Paper/Quality tab, press Apply and then OK.
The selected settings will now be set as default.
Note that you ay need to close the program you are printing from and open it again so the changes will apply..
Regards,
Shlomi

Thank You Shlomi, for considering and responding to my post. I would have never found that without your help becuase I would never have thought to look in a Windows window to change the default settings on my HP scanner. After following your instructions I went to find out if the default setting had changed from color to black & white. To do so I clicked the Start icon > scrolled down to the HP folder and clicked on it > when it opened I clicked on the HP Envy 4510 series button > the the HP Printer Assistant window opened > I clicked on 'Scan' > the 'Scan a Document or Photo' button appeared > I clicked on that button > the HP Scan window opened > the image selection was still color. Apparently I've done something wrong. I close everything, restart my system, then go back through your instructions again being very careful to be sure I am following your instruction explicitly. When I get to 'Manage your device' and click on 'Printing preferences' then again on the 'Paper/Quality' tab, sure enough the switch from Color to Blach & White held in that window. It seems odd to me that the switch from Color to Blach & White held in the "HP ENVY 4510 Printing Preferences' Windows window but when I go to the HP scan window is is still Color by default. Again, Thank You Shlomi for your time and effort, but that one extra click to change to black & white at every scan is really no big deal. Thanks, K.
