Hi @stcabral,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To ensure that all documents, scans, and other data are removed from your old HP printer before passing it on, follow these steps:
1. Remove All Print Jobs and Scan Data
Clear Print Jobs:
Access the Printer’s Control Panel:
- On the printer's screen, navigate to “Jobs” or “Print Jobs”.
- Cancel any pending print jobs.
Check Printer Queue on Computer:
- On your computer, open the “Printers & Scanners” settings (Windows) or “Printers & Scanners” (Mac).
- Select your old printer and view the print queue. Cancel any remaining print jobs.
Clear Scan Data:
- Access the Printer’s Scanning Settings:
- Go to the “Scan” menu on the printer’s control panel.
- Check for any stored scan jobs or destinations and delete them if possible.
2. Reset the Printer to Factory Settings
Performing a factory reset will clear all settings, network configurations, and stored data from the printer.
Factory Reset Steps:
Access the Control Panel:
- On the printer’s control panel, press the “Setup” icon (wrench or gear symbol).
Navigate to Printer Maintenance:
- Go to “Printer Maintenance” or “Tools”.
Select Restore Factory Defaults:
- Choose “Restore Factory Defaults” or “Reset”.
- Confirm the action and wait for the printer to reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
