Scan is done with either HP Smart or the scan app (if any) that comes with the full software package.  On my HP printer if I use HP Smart it can do 300 resolution but the scan in the driver package  can do 1200.    I never use 1200.

 

HP Smart can be obtain from the microsoft store.

 

I think you have windows 64 bit, not 32.
