Welcome to the HP English Community --
I might not understand the full context of what you are asking.
True - The printer does not have an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
True, too - The printer might not have enough memory to scan 72 pages of content in one job. Jobs that suddenly collapse due to loss of connection or lack of resource do not save the "already scanned" pages - the entire document is lost if the job does not complete.
True, too - Even had the printer an ADF, and even assuming the printer would keep track of the large job, document feeders typically hold up to 35 pages at one time.
You can certainly do the job by hand using the printer you have --
If necessary, you can break up the job and then combine the pieces into one PDF file.
Idea
If you live in a city or town where there is a company that will scan your data for you, do that.
What?
For example, take your stack of papers to a Library (not as likely but possible), Shipping company (UPS or FedEx), actual copy / photo store.
