i am unable to scan more than one photos at a time

I have a hp deskjet 3052a, windows vista.   My old printer was able to scan more than one photo at a time and save the photos to separate files.  this one doesn't seem to do that.  I plan on scanning many photos and plan on taking this printer back and getting something else if it isn't possible to do it or load software for will.  Does anyone know where I can find a list of printers that will do this?

After 4 years I was sent the software. It seems to be working well if I put the photos away from the edge of the scanner.  My scanner is still working so I will be using this program. I am very happy with it.
