importing a PDF to the scanner

How do i get my HP inkjet 4650 printer to import a PDF saved on my PC. to a scanned file It is not one of the import options.

True - at this writing, most apps and scan software won't Import a previously saved PDF file.

What you do depends on why you want to Import a PDF formatted file into Scan.

For example, open the PDF file and edit the file content using Adobe Acrobat or other software suited for the purpose.

Really want Scanned content...

One workaround is to print the file onto paper, then scan the printed document.

Once scanned (again), the content is available for whatever edits / updates / shortcuts / save / share options (that are) available in the application / software you are using.

Example - HP Smart - Scan to Document -

If the purpose of the Import is to Share / email the document to one or more recipients,

If Share is not working because you have already updated Windows Mail to New Outlook,

Go back to Windows Mail OR...

Open HP Smart > Create a Shortcut to email the file content.

Open HP Smart > Scan the printed copy of the file

When selecting a print option (print / save / shortcuts / fax), select Shortcuts

Find and select the Shortcut you created for the purpose.
