@kidmank, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
When your HP CUE Scanning Document is not responding on the HP Officejet 4500 G510g, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your HP Officejet 4500 printer and your computer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Turn them back on and try scanning again.
Check Connections:
- Ensure all cables between your printer and computer are securely plugged in.
- If using a USB connection, try connecting to a different USB port on your computer.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Visit HP Support and check if there are any updates available for your printer's drivers.
- Download and install the latest drivers.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
I hope this helps.
