I have a Jet Pro 8725 attached to a MAC. Geting the message Scanner Failure: the scanner has become damaged. Is there a fix for this. I have turned the printer off and restarted after 1 minue but get the same message.

A warm welcome to HP Community!
A scanner failure error typically indicates a scanner hardware or power issues, such as a scanner bar jam or calibration issue, low scanner bulb temperature, or an internal or external electrical problem. Instructions on how to resolve a scanner failure message can be found here.
Let me know how it goes!

Every time i restart the printer the scanner bar bangs into the side of the printer an gives scanner failure message. I have been through all the trouble shooting tips and noting helps.
I did get it to staop doing it and printing was working fine, but as soon as i tried to scan somethign again it came right back.
I would like to get this fixed as i like the printer and can't afford a new one right now and appart from this it was in perfect order
