Hi

I am also having this problem.  My HP Envy 120 was scanning, printing and copying fine and now suddenly scanning and copying produce a page full of vertical coloured lines.  I've followed several links from solutions to the same problem but all of them say page cannot be found.  Can anyone help?

Sal

@Sal-238

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting vertical lines while scanning and copying on HP ENVY 120 Printer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

Clean the scanner.

Reset the printer.

  1. Remove any items from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder (ADF), then close the scanner lid.

  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.

  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  4. Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet.

       NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

  6. If you have an HP DeskJet 3700 series printer, calibrate the scanner after resetting the printer.

  7. Load the original document or photo, then try to scan.

Clean the automatic document feeder (ADF) rollers.

Change the scan settings.

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.

Have tired the suggestion of software and driver reload, and cleaning /unplug process to stop the colored lines on the scan results.

ALL INEFFECTIVE.  What now

Please find someone who can actually advise on the issue. Nothing mentioned here or in the linked document fixes the issue.

This is how a scan looks like, every scan, even after cleaning and restarting:
