Hi @arielw194,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4675 printer's scanner is not scanning to the computer, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
- Check the Connection: Ensure that your printer and computer are properly connected. If it's a wired connection (USB), make sure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer. If it's a wireless connection, ensure both devices are connected to the same network.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Restart both your computer and the printer.
- Update Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause scanning problems. Visit the HP official website, navigate to the support section, and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install them on your computer.
- HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can help identify and resolve common printing and scanning problems automatically. Download and run this tool to see if it detects any issues and provides solutions.
- Check Scanner Settings: Ensure that the scanner settings on your printer are correctly configured. Use the printer's control panel (if available) to check settings such as scan resolution, file format, etc.
- Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, security software can block communication between the printer and computer. Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software and try scanning again to see if it resolves the issue.
- Test with Another Application: Try scanning from a different application or software. For example, use Windows Fax and Scan (if you are on Windows) or Image Capture (if you are on Mac) to check if the issue is application-specific.
- Check for Physical Obstructions: Ensure there are no physical obstructions in the scanner area of the printer that could prevent proper scanning.
- Reset Printer: As a last resort, you can reset your printer to its factory defaults. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
