When I scan or copy via the document feeder on the 8625, I get a series of black vertical lines down the middle of the page. This doesn't happen when i scan directly from the flatbed, nor when I print directly from a file on my computer. This looks like a sw problem rather than a hw problem. I've cleaned the heads that draw the paper in. I tried the HP troubleshooter, updating drivers (which shouldn't be an issue anyway if it's on the printer, not the PC), turning everything on/off, etc.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Most times lines only on ADF copies are caused by contamination on the glass. Lift the ADF lid and to the left of the main glass you should see a small it of glass. Clean this carefully and try another copy. You can always make a copy of blank paper and then line up e bad copy with the glass to locate debris. Keep in mind that even material like a speck of adhesive from a post it note is enough to cause issues.
