Hi @MSgtUSAFret,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is incorrectly using the date 7/18/07 for scanned documents, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Date and Time Settings
- Access Printer Menu: Use the printer’s control panel to navigate to the settings or setup menu.
- Date and Time: Look for options related to date and time. Ensure they are set to the current date and time.
- Save Changes: If you make any adjustments, be sure to save the changes.
2. Update Printer Firmware
- Check for Updates: Go to the HP Support website and check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve bugs and issues.
3. Restart the Printer
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset any temporary glitches.
4. Reset to Factory Defaults
- Access Settings: Go to the settings menu on the printer.
- Restore Defaults: Look for an option to restore factory settings. This may vary by model, so refer to your printer’s manual.
- Reconfigure Settings: After resetting, you may need to reconfigure your network settings and other preferences.
5. Check Software Settings
- If you’re using a scanning software on your computer, check its settings as well. Some software may have its own date settings that could affect how scanned documents are saved.
6. Scan Using Different Software
- Try using different scanning software, like Windows Fax and Scan or any other scanning application, to see if the date issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
