"Scan Failure" when using scan to email app on OfficeJet Pro 9025 and OfficeJet pro 8025

I can't scan to email using the app on the printer.  "Scan failure"..."The scan failed. Try again or touch Exit to quit"  is the message.  I bought an OfficeJet 8025 today and it does the same thing.  An HP tech told me it's caused by my OS, but it worked for over a month after the upgrade.  The problem started this past Friday.

1.) Are you able to print from your Mac? 

2.) Does the regular scan works?
