A few days ago, I thought I had banished all the gremlins from my Omni 10 (thanks to this forum; the trick was disabling all power-saving options in the Intel display control panel and turning off power management for the USB controller). I should have remained skeptical, as the tablet stopped charging soon after. A call to HP Support resulted in a new adapter being shipped my way. My FedEx package came today, and the only thing inside was a region-specific plug insert; no adapter to be found. Seriously, HP?
Anyway, on to my question for the community, because I don't believe the adapter is the problem: Has anyone found a solution for charging issues? The tablet charged every time I plugged it in for more than three weeks, but has refused to charge for the last two days. As far as I'm aware, no software changes were made near the time the problem appeared, and I see no evidence of failed hardware.
I don't think it needs to be said, but obviously I checked to make sure the adapter was plugged into a functioning outlet.

the following worked for me:
Solution Provided
2. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet
3. Patiently wait for 10 minutes
4. Plug the charger to the wall, connect the charger to your HP Omni 10. And that should do it.
The reason why you have to unplug the charger and wait for 10 minutes is because the HP charger has built-in protections, if it senses surge or anything like that, it would disabled it self unless it is unplug from the power outlet for a while, and it would resume working again. This is what happen to HP Omni 10 today, Hopefully this solution will help anyone with an HP Omni 10 tablet not charging problem.

I thought about that, but I believe it's a separate issue. I was able to charge several times after making the configuration changes I described.
After I posted this question, I examined the charging port and the adapter plug with a flashlight. I can't see any damage, but the connection appears to be a very fragile design (large tolerances and small contact points, with little to ensure proper alignment). Maybe a new adapter will solve the problem after all; that said, I expect many users will have similar problems over time.

Hello,
Did you get a replacement charger, and that didn't work either?
I have had my Omni only a few weeks and now it recognizes the charger as plugged in but says it isn't charging. If I turn it off it seems to trickle charge but so far at the rate it is going it will take a week to fully charge.
It worked great, then this, my first thought was the charger.

I never received my replacement charger, even though the "support" person promised to straighten it out. Hooray for outsourcing with zero accountability!
I didn't follow up on it, because my original charger mysteriously started working again. I had rebooted many times with no improvement, but it started charging after several minutes of plugging the connector in at slightly different angles. I didn't post an update to this thread, because I can't clearly identify what resolved the problem. It's pretty obvious that the connection is a bad design; if you have problems, I'd recommend messing with it and/or rebooting until the problem disappears.

Did you Omni recognize that the charger was even plugged in? Mine does. I think it is charging barely. I have messed with a bit but there doesn't seem to be any play with the plug. The only thing I noticed was if it is plugged in at the bottom of the tablet and plugged into the wall it seems to be getting some power. If I unplugged just the wall part it still says the same on the battery but then immediately gives me a low power warning.
I think I will attempt to chat with a support specialist...
