Hello,
This is my first see the issue, I could not make any modification to the provisioning server's config file.
The system version is 5.5.0.
The modification I made just to enable the music on hold, change the figure from blank to 1, which is enable.
After save the modification to the feature.cfg and reopen, it will always say:"Error loading: C:\inetpub\UCS\5.5 Config\feature.cfg Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 56. Would you like to open it using Notepad?"
I guess it is because of permission but I already grant my self as the local admin to this folder.
This is ftp site. I haven't met such issue in my last customer site which is http site.

I thin this is something to do with the ftp site's asp or IIS settings, all the cfg files having such wired issues.
When I tried to create a new shared.cfg file using below content copied to a text file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <!–Sample Polycom Shared configuration file for UCS–> <LYNC> <device device.set="1" device.baseProfile.set="1" device.baseProfile="Lync"/> <registration reg.1.auth.usePinCredentials="0" sec.TLS.customCaCert.1="—PASTE CERTIFICATE HERE—"/> </LYNC>
If I save and open with XML notepad 2007, I still got an error saying incorrect.
This indeed working in another customer site using http but not ftp

Hello kuberk,
welcome back to the Polycom Community.
Did you ever have a chance to follow this topic => here <= up with a Polycom reseller?
For your new issue the FAQ contains this post here:
Jun 15, 2016 Question:Can I use UC Software 5.5.0 for Lync or Skype for Business deployments?
Resolution:UC Software 5.5.0 has not been qualified by Microsoft to use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments. Polycom will not support UC Software 5.5.0 use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments.
Please downgrade to a currently supported version UC Software 5.4.5 instead.
Looking at your cfg I exchanged the top two lines as you must have used some non XML conform source:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <!-- Sample Polycom Shared configuration file for UCS --> <LYNC> <device device.set="1" device.baseProfile.set="1" device.baseProfile="Lync"/> <registration reg.1.auth.usePinCredentials="0" sec.TLS.customCaCert.1="—PASTE CERTIFICATE HERE—"/> </LYNC>
Looking at the above CFG you are setting the phones into LYNC base profile.
This indicates that you are using a non-LYNC / Skype for business SKU so please ensure you have the relevant per Device License from Polycom per phone as explained => here <=
Please remember that Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
