Hi, i tried to upgrade my friends hp dv9655ee to windows 7 and for few hours it works fine, but now it isnt. It looks like gpu is not working properly, when it work for longer period of time screen works only in VGA safe mode and 8 bit colours, nvidia settings could not been sterted because it give me something like this: Nvidia gpu is not being used on this display. I tried newest drivers and drivers for vista from hp site. Is it possible that gpu is overheating? How is that possible if in vista all works fine.  It has now Windows 7 enterprise 32.bit. I tried delete all drivers with driver sweeper, install nforce and then nvidia gpu drivers but ist also dont help. Please advise.

I ordered a DV6000 with the AMD motherboard and 4gb of RAM several years ago. Last year I upgraded it to Windows 7 (32 bit) Professional. When I did it, I bought a new hard drive and did a clean install. When it still had vista on it I wen through a periodof time where it would constantly freeze up on me and I would have to restart. At some point it stopped freezing up and was working fine with Vista when I changed hard drives and installed windows 7.  Recently I sent it to a repair facility to have them reflow the GPU. It is still freezing up on me randomly. I have scanned for viruses and have none that I am aware of. I also have the HP Notebook Quick Dock which I have an HP w2207h monitor connected to as well as an HP 5610 all in one connected via usb as well as the HP wireless keyboard & mouse and a 500gb external hard drive. The quick dock is plugged to the computer witht the HP cable. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

How to find out which model you've got and specifications for it:

 

      1. Click on Support & Drivers link. (Upper part of this page.)

 

      2. In search box type your laptop product number (p/n).

      3. Under notebook picture you will find your notebook model name (example: HP Pavilion dv6205eu Notebook PC).

 

      4. On the same page click on Product Information -> Product Specifications and you will find all informations about

           your notebook hardaware.

 

 

 

How to install Windows 7 and what you should know while upgrading:

      3. Some drivers have comment then they are originaly made for Vista system.

          When normal installation will fail, then try to run unsuccessfully installed file in Compatibility Mode (Windows Vista,

          Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2).

I solved my problem with getting code 43 in system hardware manager and working only in safe mode. All i have to do was to dissasemble notebook and heat GPU with a heat gun for about 2 minutes. Now everthing works well.

Hi,

 

i'm installing Windows 7 32bit for a friend that have the DV6137EA model.

 

The problem is the wired ethernet controller driver.

The hardware id is:

 

PCI\VEN_6886&DEV_109A&SUBSYS_30BB103C&REV_00

 

I tryed both intel pro 100/1000 driver and the realtek lan drivers but nothing work.

 

The system had windows xp and the ethernet controller was not configured too.

 

Any ideas?

q1]           what is minimum / best temperature should have for CPU, GPU, motherboard and HDD?

 

q2]           Is this temperature is enough to upgrade to Windows 7? Will it will create any problem after upgrading to Windows 7? Here are the temperature value of my system by CPUID Hardware Monitor v1.22

This values are ok.

It is difficult to answer your question.

The idea is to not reach a much higher temperature after performing OS upgrade in compare to this values which you have now.
