Product: Envy 4500

I changed the ink cartridge in my HP Envy 4500.  It printed the alignment page fine.  I put on the screen to scan and it just keeps saying it's scanning 'forever' until I cancel.  Then it's stuck on cancel until I force a shut down.    I'm ready to take a sledgehammer to this printer.
