I have an officejet 6100.   I used to be able to set my default print quality to "draft" through the device manager.  The setting remained and was always the default no matter what app I was printing from.  Now the default settings can't be saved.

 

I have reinstalled the driver.  I have tried changing the preferences from every single possible avenue and they NEVER remain.   I can't even get the preferences to stay once I close the dialogue box.  I immediately reopen it and nothing sticks.

 

Don't give us the usual "reinstall driver...  mmmm durrr".    It doesn't work.  In fact, the release date for the latest driver is 2015, so nothing new there.   Give us an actual solution.

 

Just be honest and tell us "sucks to be you, you'll have to buy a new printer if you want it to work properly"  if you don't want to provide us with a real solution.
