Hi there, I am trying to set up "Scan to Email" and as with my previous HP printers, it's a hassle. I have accounts with Kolabnow, but they are so security-focused that I don't think they will ever permit the printer to send out an email via their SMTP. So I am trying to set it up with a Gmail account. Given the prevalence of Gmail you'd think HP has a simple page explaining how to do it but this doesn't appear to be the case, or am I missing it?

At any rate, I think I have set it up correctly now, but Google keeps sending me messages that a "less secure app" is trying to log in to my account. That's me trying to set up the scan to email I presume, but why is it less secure? Is the only way to scan to email really for me to allow less secure apps to use my email login? Can't HP get their security up to speed to Google's requirements? Is there any way around allowing Gmail to allow less secure apps?

Thanks in advance for all your help,

Gerard
