Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently upgraded my printer from an Envy 7640 to an Office Jet 3830.  From the 7640 I still have several black cartridges unused (No 62XL) and the 3830 uses No 63XL (also black).  Are the cartridges interchangeable?  They certainly appear to be more than just similar.  I would appreciate a valid answer, because I do not wish to damage the new perinter.  Any suggestions if they are not interchangeable?
