My printer suddenly stopped printing, despite the ink level showing at least half full on both the Tri-color and Black cartridges. I followed the troubleshooting steps including cleaning they contacts with distilled water. So as a last resort, I purchased a 63XL package that contained both the Black and Tri-color cartridges (I only use HP print cartridges). When I put them in the printer, they worked right away. A week later I am trying to print and now I have an error "Incompatible Cartridge" - The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer. So once again I have followed the trouble shooting steps and have determined that it is the Black 63XL cartridge. If I put the old black cartridge in, the error goes away, but it still will not print black. I removed the Black cartridge all together and the printer works fine in single cartridge mode with the new Tri-color 63XL. Seems like a bad Black 63 XL cartridge??
