Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My HP Photosmart C4740 does not print BLACK, only COLOR.  When I try to print a document, with COLOR specified in the Printer settings, the paper comes out GRAY not BLACK.  When I try printing GRAY-SCALE only, nothing prints.  Both ink cartridges are almost new and authentic genuine HP 60 origins.  I've tried multiple things, cleaning and aligning the print cartridges, and even reloading the print drivers, to no avail.  Help me solve this problem.  Thanks
