I've successfully set up my new printer but cannot complete the wifi set-up step.
It says my Mac laptop is connected to a 5GHz wifi network but the printer can only be connected to a 2.5GHz network.
It gave me the option to change my computer connection to 2.5GHz or to complete wifi set-up using a USB cable.
I chose the latter as I'd rather not reduce my wifi capability.
When I got to the 'Join' step, with my Macbook Air and the correct printer showing on screen, after the 'wheel' had gone round a while I got a pop-up to say that it's not possible to connect.
I've tried the troubleshooting recommendations, such as pushing the WPS button on the router, printing out the HP Nework Configuration Page (under Wireless it shows my MAC hardware address and my network name/SSID but says 'disconnected' under Status), and moving the printer nearer and further from the router (it says 1m to 1.5m is optimum, I've also tried less and more).
Both items are on the same wifi network and are plugged in.
Hope someone can help.
Many thanks.
