A previous post (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/When-Setting-up-Scan-to-Email-from-HP-Offi...) identified but did not solve the problem of a failure to recognise Outlook as the default email app.

While the specific app, HP Scan, does recognise Outlook as my mail server, HP Smart, which is the general app that loads with the printer, and which is the user interface presented automatically when the printer is connected, does not.  I have checked all of my Window settings and they are all set to Outlook as the default mail server/app.

Most users will not be aware that they can download the more versatile HP Scan app and will try to persevere with HP Smart for their scanning.  I suspect many will be having the same problem of HP Smart not giving Outlook as an option for emailing a scan and that this is a software fault with HP Smart.

Can HP fix this?
