I just replaced one of the cartridges on my HP OfficeJet 8600. The ink level is showing almost empty. I know I've replaced it correctly. The printer is now giving an error message about the printhead not being installed correctly or missing. I went through the troubleshooting steps for that, and the printer still isn't working. Is it possible the cartridge is the culprit? I don't want to spend money on another cartridge if it's not the problem, though obviously there's something wrong since, as I said, I just replaced it but the indicator shows the level is almost empty. The more significant issue is the printer stopped functioning. I certainly don't want to replace the printhead for close to the cost of a new printer. Any suggestions?
