Product: HP ENVY 5640 e-All-in-One Printer

I am actually using OS 14.2 on a MacBook Air, but the menu didn't allow me that choice.

To print 1-sided I have to open the printing settings and re-click on 1-sided despite it being set as the default mode.  If I don't the printer defaults to 2-sided.

Also when I do print 2 sided, the printer is very noisy.... almost like gears are grinding.
