Looks like an older question for this scanner went unanswered and was closed:
ScanJet Pro 3000 S3 - HP Support Community - 6112711
This article states that S2 scanners did have the option to never go to sleep. S4 scanners also have this option.
We are still having issues with the HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s3 Sheet-feed Scanner since the 24H2 Windows update.
The issue now is that these scanners go into sleep mode after 8 hours and will not be recognized by Windows unless
the scanner is power cycled and Windows is rebooted. Have to do this twice sometimes.
We also have HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 scanners. We got those to stay connected when we went into the scan utility and set the sleep mode to never. The s3 scanners don't have this option even after updating to the latest firmware (3.53 at this
time).
Why hasn't this been fixed in the firmware for S3 scanners? We have about 15 S3 scanners that will be useless if they are put on new Windows 11 24H2 computers. I understand that these are out of warranty but there should be either a fix or a hardware replacement program.
