Hi, im suffering the same problem, the ethernet driver is missing, tryed updating and went to the length of reinstalling windows, (which has caused me to lose the sound from my pc to 😞 ) anyway one thing at a time, any help is much appreciated, i select
-ethernet controller
-properties
-details
-(then in the drop down menu) Device Instance ID
= PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_16A6&SUBSYS_00CC103C&REV_02\4&25296D99&0&10F0
Before reinstalling windows only 'ethernet controller' came up with a yellow question mark in device manager under other devices, now it has 'Multimedia audio controller" and 2 "SCSI controller"
is the audio controller why ive lost sound? if so the device details are:
=PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C5&SUBSYS_00C3103C&REV_01\3&61AAA01&0&FD
any help is much appreciated, thanks
Lewis

Hi, Lewis:
I don't know whether you are running W7 or Vista since they both use the drop down menu to find the hardware ID.
In any event, go to your PC' support and driver page, download and install the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet driver.
The other one is your SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio device.
