Pavilion 15-ec0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

1. First let me make this very clear. The installed HP tools caused this issue. The BIOS update was listed as a critical update. I did the update as recommended by YOUR SOFTWARE.

2. The issue is now well documented by several users in this forum that the latest BIOS update causes sudden locking while gaming .

3. I / WE need a resolution to this ASAP. This needs to be escalated to an Engineer within HP.

4.I have been contacting the Hp Support UK via Whatsapp for three days now , but unfortunately without any fruitful outcome and the issue persists after a lot of tries we made to reverse it.

5. I need one of three options to happen:

5a: Allow me to downgrade the BIOS or provide a workaround to allow this to happen.

5b: publish a newer BIOS that fixes this now KNOWN issue .

5c: HP send me a new motherboard with a functioning BIOS that allows for smooth gaming experience , which is Why I bought this expensive laptop for.

A new BIOS was released to the FTP site today.  Try installing it to resolve the shutdown issue.

It's getting me really annoyed . I can't play any game without the system locking me out several times every 5 or 10 minutes.

I have the same issue, many others do as well. This was a problem even for some OMEN laptop users. The current BIOS version is probably AMI F0.8 and I even tried to reset the laptop and it doesn't work. I think the only way to solve this is to solve it by installing the previous version of the BIOS

I have the exact same issue when playing Valorant. I suspected it was something related to the newest BIOS update that rolled out few days ago. And it really annoys me especially when I play in a competitive mode.

I hope HP can find an issue for this because many of us are facing the same problem.

Thank you.

I didn't have this problem when my bios was still F. 05. Then hp support app suggested I needed a vital bios update to F. 08... Now my gaming time is 5mins at most till I'm locked out then the screen goes dark. Help😢
