I have continually not been able to log in to HP Smart's website for scanning and other subjects. I have reinstalled HP Smart several times, restarted my MAC, printer and modem (though that should not make a difference) several times, yet I still receive this notice:
"We're sorry, something went wrong
We apologize for the inconvenience! Please exit setup and try again later to resolve this issue. If you continue to have issues setting up, contact HP Support.
(Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0100)". So after some research, I have found that this is not uncommon, but there does not seem to be a sure fix. Please advise.Something unexpected happened

I had conducted all relevant options you presented me with with no success. As it turns out, I was current on all software. The issue was that while the login site states to login with your email or username, it would not accept an email address. Seems to me that I had been using my email address since I started HP Smart and InstantInk as the computer captured my login credentials with that as the login. However, it being a couple years since I have set that account up, I idid not know my accounts username. The call-in Cust svc provided me that and I was able to log in to both web sites. So, it should be made aware that email addresses may not be an accepted login credential and that customers may have to call in to obtain their username (if they cannot remember it). Also, HP should either make login strictly by username, or repair the ability to use email address if they continue to have it posted on the login site.

@BKMEIS, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand the HP Smart app is not working.
To assist you better, did you download this app from the App Store?
Which version of the HP Smart app are you using?
Go to HP Smart>About HP Smart. (The current version is 13.5.0)
Kindly check for any updates for this app in App Store.
Also, check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Meanwhile, you may use the HP Easy Scan app to scan from the Mac as a workaround.
Alternatively, you may also use Apple's inbuilt feature - Apple Image Capture app.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
This model printer is AirPrint compatible. Install the printer using the AirPrint driver (recommended)
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
Note: Select "Bonjour multifunction" under kind while installing.
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click on the YES button to reply that the response was helpful and/or to say “Thank You”.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Could you share the screen where it's asking for the password?
- Are you printing from your phone or computer?
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
Keep me posted for further assistance.
