Deskjet 3700
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've just set up a brand new Deskjet 3700 and would like to register for an Instant Ink trial.

HOWEVER... you need a code which can only be obtained once you've logged into the printer's Web Services. When I try to do this, it asks for a password:

I've never set a password for this feature, so how can I obtain it? I've looked everywhere for a default and can't find one. You can't leave the box blank, as it won't allow you to submit. I've tried the Wifi direct default password ('12345678') and my HP Smart account password. No dice.

Any ideas?

Thank you for the answer. Unfortunately your method did not work for my printer. It simply printed out the Network Configuration Page.

However, I did find out the solution myself. If you open the front cover of the printer - as if to remove the print cartridges - you will find the default EWS password (it's actually a PIN number) printed on the right, along with your printer's serial number.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Please do check your inbox on the communities page for the private message.
