I have had an officejet pro 8600 for a year and 6 months, I have a new chromebook and need to find the printers email address in order to print. I can currently print wirelessly from my current laptop, Ipad and phone. I have the HP accounts set up and when I go to the printer and hit the apps icon it says there is an error, "There was an internal processing error. Please retry or manually check the firmware updates." I have printed out a configuration page and everything looks in order. I just need the printers e-mail address so I can register it with HP! Please Help!

Hi enjstew,
I'm sorry to hear you are having problems getting your printer's ePrint email address for you Officejet 8600.
I have included a document on how to confirm that you have the latest firmware update. Once you have confirmed that the printer has the latest firmware update you should be able to retrieve your printer's current email address. I have included a document on how to customize that email address.

The instructions are great, but when I try to download the updated firmwart my computer says, "This program contained a virus and was deleted." I believe that i have shut down all of the firewalls. Please advise!

Hi enjstew,
I'm sorry to hear you are still having problems.
When you get the message, is your anti-virus shut down as well? The message that you posted would indicate it's coming from an anti-virus software, not necessarily from your firewall. Please consult your anti-virus manufacturer for instructions on how to temporarily shut your anti-virus software.
I have included a link to the current firmware download page. It has a list of ways to check which firmware version your printer has. It has has a section titled "How to install". For this firmware upgrade, it requires a wired network (ethernet) or a USB cable connection.

Hi turn176,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand that you are trying to determine what is your printer's ePrint email address.
To find your printer's email address, please press the ePrint icon on the front panel of your printer. If web services have been enabled it will display your printer's email address. If it prompts you to accept the terms of use, please accept and follow the prompts. To assist you with this I have included a document with detailed steps on setting up your ePrint.
Your comment regarding the Spanish site makes me wonder if you have accidentally subscribed to a Print App. I have included a document that explains the print apps and scheduled deliveries and how to start or stop them.
