o my printer.

Well, i have done the steps you so kindly requested with out any problems. I did get a notice that there were no .shd.* and no *.spl files. There were also now printer or ptinter related files under the Hewet-Packerd directory, and nothing in the spool director.

I also recall that this problem started after the update we receive from HP with in the last 2 weeks.

Further I can go to my pictures folder, print a photo and get the problem. I can also go to my email, get one with a photo in it, print it and get the problem. I can use my browser, go to a web site that has a picture (not a photo?) and print it with out the problem. I can send a photo from my phone or tablet and not get the problem. Only get the problem from both pcs that have the update. There is one other check I can do. My son and his family shares our house with us. He has his own network and a different printer. He is at work now, but when he comes home, I will have him connect to our network and send a picture from his pc. I'll get back to later to day. we are in Washington state.

I do not know what is going on. My posts are disappearing?

I did all that you have asked in the last reply. I had now problems. In the spool directory I found no *.shd or *.spl files and coud not find any file under Hew...Packard or the sub folders.

I don't know if I mentioned it but the problem occurred after the most recent HP update. Im not sure if it included a firm ware up date.

When I print a photo from my pc or my wife;s, we get the streaks, and when we go to our email and print a photo we get the problem. When we use a browser, go to a web site with a picture (not a photo) we do not get the problem

I have and additional check I can do. My son and his family share our house. He has his own net work and a laserjet. When he gets home I will have him connect to our networ and send a photo to our printer. I;ll let you know the results.

Thanks for your help.

Well, i connected my son's computer to my networ, set my printer as the default, printed a photo and have the problem..

I'm not sure what now. It seems to onlybe  photos on the PC . Since my son's pc has the same problem but a different driver I ,m not sure it is  the new driver. I printed the same photo that I have on my phone from my pc and it prints with the problem.  but not from the Phone. My son has not updated his driver on his pc and his printer is an officegjet 6000 series.

We really like our printer and would like to continue on with it although HP has it on sale for $89.00?

I did your script yesterday and just now i went to device manager>printers>HP officejet Pro 6970 PCL-3. I see under events that it has - Install request  at 3:38:59

                       Installed (hpygid20_v4inf_am
Umder Information i see

Driver Management concluded the process to install driver hpygid20_v4.inf_amd64_f46ac2401efd418d for Device Instance ID SWD\PRINTENUM\WSD-BE2FB7E9-A148-4C86-9CA9-F8ECD4A2B3B4.006C with the following status: 0x0.

I checked the driver on my son's computer and it has a date of 05/30/2018  for MY printer, so we must have installed the drivers on a previou date when his old printer went belly up.

Hope this helps?

Your thoghts on the next step

Are the normal documents (Microsoft Word, PDF etc.) from these two computers printing well?

What is the paper size and type you are using to print these photos?

Make sure the settings to print these photos on the Computer are set right: https://support.hp.com/ph-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-6970-all-in-one-printer-series/8289585/documen...

Let me know if this helps.

That solved the problem. It seems the printer setup was set to Factory by the update?

. I changed it to photo border or borderless then saved the serttings. Not sure I need to or how to set to the saved settings. Seems it went back to the factory setting after the save.

I'm glad to hear that.  Is this on the Printer or the Computer?
