Good Day
I reinstalled windows 10 in January and ever since I have been trying to get my fingerprint scanner to work. It wont show up on device manager (even in when show hidden devices in selected). My windows is up to date and there are no optional updates showing.
I tried HP Image assistant and it installed the fingerprint driver, however after restarting the computer, it still doesn't show up.
Windows settings display an error when setting up fingerprint
Please help me fix this issue. It was working fine prior to reinstalling windows 10.

Have you entered the BIOS and enabled the Synaptics (Validity) Fingerprint Sensor ?
That is necessary before even trying to update the driver software package.

I had a looked at the BIOS Menu and I can't find any option for fingerprint or Synaptics in any of the tab (Advance as well)
I remeber seeing that option a while back but after updating the BIOS to the latest (Version : Q78 Ver. 01.25.00 06/16/2023) using HP PC hardware Diagnosis..., its no longer there?
It should be in the advance section correct under built in options?
