Same problem, but only noticed W button doing this, and its getting worse. Does this on all kinds of games, Mass effect Andromeda, Anthem, old Everquest EMUs, The Division 2, its not the games. OMEN by HP Laptop 17-an0xx supposedly a gaming laptop with WASD in red colors youd think they can handle some running without starting to break, unless its the bios thing, please let me know how this can be fixed so I dont have to use an external keyboard.

Your problem maybe hardware problem. Because i have problem with all keys. Fumny thing is that i had same problem with 2017 model too. They roll bios update with some keyboard input fix, but problem is still the same. I noticed that problem is more often when using space, shift, ctrl, alt keys in combination with other keys. Never HP again 🙂

I'm have the same problem with the OMEN 17 laptop. The key board can only register 2 key pressed at a time.
Example: holding down W and A then pressing R.
The 3rd key press, R will not register and will only register if any of the other key is released.

I have the exact same issue on multiple games. My laptop sometimes has trouble registering more than 2 keys at a time, and I will have to re-press keys for them to register. This is a huge issue for a laptop advertised as a “gaming” laptop.
Here are a couple other topics with the same issue, there seems to be no solution so far:
