Is NVMe supported on the HP Pavilion 15-bc439ur 2018 laptop motherboard?
I want to install a 500 GB SSD, but I don’t know. SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus

Chapter 1, page 4 of the service manual indicates that SATA M.2 SSD's are supported, not NVMe.
Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion Notebook PC
But on page 5 it indicates that Intel Optane memory is supported.
I cannot find any posts where someone installed a NVMe SSD in the 15-bc4xx model series and reported that it worked.
I did find one post where someone installed a NVMe SSD and reported that it did not work.

That could definitely be a possibility.
Optane memory is NVMe so in theory a NVMe SSD should also work in the slot.
But the manual indicates SATA only and any other posts marked as solved are just replies stating that NVMe SSD's will work, but no actual reports that it did.
If you want to try one out, that is up to you.
