Hi,

I recently bought a new battery for my laptop but it isn't charging. It is showing the message "0% charging, plugged in" even after 6 hours of its charge. I have tried many of the options to fix this problem  -

1. Checked the battery status at HP support application

2. Completed the component test under UEFI hardware diagnostics

3. Completed The famous Hard reset procedure

4. Checked my AC adapter under component test

5. Updated the BIOS

All are working fine.

I am really stuck at this point because of the covid-19 lockdown I cant even search for the nearby hp store. My studies are really getting affected.

Can anyone from this community suggest me what shall i do next ?

Won't cause any harm it's just going to get less and less reliable. Try not to let it shut down suddenly as that can damage the system if it happens more than once or twice.

Where and from whom did you buy the battery? Is it a genuine HP product or a compatible battery?

Hello sir,

I bought it online from Lap Gadgets, who was selling a genuine HP Laptop battery with one year warranty and 30 days of return scheme.

This is the link to the website - https://lapgadgets.in/

These are some clicks of the battery -

I would take advantage of the 30 day return.

Well...now it seems this is the only option left.

I am left with my old battery now. Every time I start my laptop on it, the system gives me an "HP Battery alert" displaying the storage capacity of the battery stated very low.

My PC can't stand below 70% of its charge without plugged-in.

Can you please tell is it safe to use my old battery for at least 3 to 4 months?

Ok sir, I will continue its usage until the lockdown breaks.

Thank you so much for your guidance and useful advice!
