I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Same here.  I had one machine that had the clickly trackpad and though the noise is not that loud but annoyed the heck out of me any time you touch the touchpad.  Glad I exchanged with one that doesn't make that noise but having a sleuth of different issues on the new one, mainly overheating and sleep/wake function or lack of when using it with lid closed.

I read somewhere the trackpad fix is to open up the laptop and tighten the screws and if it is that simple, I cannot comprehend the quality control and the manufacturing process to miss something that simple.  If HP can't screw in simple screws properly, what else that are more critical to the laptop they are messing with.  Also, the customer service saying this is normal or not to worry about it is just wrong as well.  Seems you need to speak to multiple reps to get someone that actually knows and cares about what we are going through.  I wouldn't complain if this was a $400 machine.  It's supposed to be one of their flagships...

I agree. But I am currently on my 5th one of this laptop. And all the ones previous had either the clicky track pad issue and/or the battery discharge when shut off issue. This latest one has a slightly annoying track pad and I've just decided to put up with it. It's not perfect but not really up for waiting 2 weeks for another unit.

I also went through 5 of them: 4 from Best Buy, 1 from HP.com. All either had loose trackpads, USB-C issues or keyboard feedback problems.

HP simply does not know what quality control is, and must be why Apple continues to lead in this respect. I guess "you get what you pay for" applies here.

The touchpad is loose. I sent it in for service and they replaced the touchpad. It is not loose now and feels solid to press on.

I just got mine 2 weeks ago and have the same question. Everything seems to be working fine, but there is a subtle sound when 2 finger scrolling or just a light touch

I just received my spectre and have the same annoying loose trackpad. Waited more than two months for the 4K screen to be back in stock again. Will have to return it as the loose trackpad is just very irritating. None of the Spectres on display at Best Buy and Microsoft store that I tested had a loose trackpad.

Looks like HP employees only say that they are delighted to assist, but nothing clever in any forums comes out of them... They should be ashamed really..
