I agree.  This is much much more than just being a bit hot. I used to enjoy winter's evenings with my laptop heating my knees nicely but not this time with my new computer!

Have you tried the new BIOS update?

HP is proessing a DOA for my laptop. I should be getting a new replacement in next 2 weeks.

They seems to take forever to process the DOA.

I have updated everything but the overheating problem is still there.......I am sure it is about  to burst into flames sometimes!

Has anyone managed to find out why this is happening and how to fix it?

I paid a lot of money for a good laptop and I think I won't bother next time as i think this one will not last too long but just long enough to be out of the warranty no doubt. A cheaper one will do the job for me just as well I am thinking now.

I'm having the same running hot problem.  Is there anything we can do to get it fixed or replaced?

Hi - I'm having the same problem. Hot on the underside but the problem is intermitent and when it gets hot and the fan runs the battery drains quickly. I've sent this laptop back once and they reported no problem. Been on HP chat today and they want to take it back again - I declined as every time it goes back they take it back to factory settings. Clearly a X360 problem but they dont admit it!

Yes it is very disappointing that there has been no work done by HP to solve or even acknowledge this especially as it is so dangerous and could cause a fire with perhaps fatal results
That probably sounds too dramatic. But a possibility. So I am careful and hope you are too
My son has the second problem with his spectre 360

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Hi Guys,

Few weeks back I received my replacement laptop and it seemed as if the problem was fixed via the BIOS updates.

Yesterday, my son told me that his latop was super hot while at school. The laptop battery drained faster than normal and then shut down. I will have to raise another service request with HP and see if they are going to send me a 2nd laptop.

It seems the HP support team doessn't have a solution for this problem.

It took them more than a month to have my new laptop replaced. I am really not happy with HP. This is probably going to be my first and last HP purchase.
