Oh, thank you still although! Should I edit my message and cut out the motherboard name as well by the way?

You're very welcome.

There's no need to do that.

The forum rules only prohibit posting the PC'S serial number.

Thank you again so much for your help! I really do appreciate it! 😄

Anytime.

After you upgrade the DDR4-3200 memory, please post back and let us know the results...

Sure will! When I do if I may ask, where should I post it? Do I reply to the comment of yours or something else?

You can just reply back on this discussion.

Thank you! I can't wait to upgrade it, of course I won't upgrade right now, but in a few months or sooner I definitely will!

Hello again Paul! How are you? I have a small question. Does HP use XMP or JEDEC Certified RAM if I may ask? Thanks in advance!

Also, this is unrelated to hardware or upgradability I think, but when I typed in my serial number in HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 Manuals | HP® Customer Support, it said I owned a HP 15s-fq2000, when I own a HP 15-dy2028ca. Here's the link to Best Buy where I bought this laptop: HP 15.6" Laptop - Silver (Intel Core i7-1165G7/512GB SSD/8GB RAM/Windows 10) | Best Buy Canada. I am confused and would like clarification please. Thanks in advance.

Hi:

I'm doing fine, and I hope you are as well.

Unfortunately, that I do not know.

What I do know is that you cannot change any XMP memory profiles in the BIOS, which is why I recommend you use the standard Crucial memory with the standard memory timings (the kit with the green circuit board), not the gaming memory which has non standard timings.

You can find hundreds of posts on this forum where people are asking in vain 'How do I unlock the advanced settings in the BIOS?'

There is no such thing on any HP consumer class or gaming notebook that I know of, and so either the memory they buy doesn't work at all, or it runs at a slower frequency than it should.
