Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

This is an issue I've seen posted repeatedly and NONE of the solutions that any of the HP tech have provided works - for anyone. And I've even sent my brand new laptop back to HP to see if it was the hardware or software and then sent it back and it STILL is a problem.

When typing - doesn't matter which program- the cursor jumps to a random location in previous text and even sometimes highlights text and deletes it - all while you are typing away. Making the very act of doing the one thing the VERY EXPENSIVE computer is intended to do almost impossible without frustration and irritation.

Please DO NOT tell us to reset the touchpad driver, or send the computer back again for another look at the hardware... it's not the OS or some phantom brush of the touchpad. The touchpad is NOT being brushed. And turning on or off the touchscreen does not resolve it either.

From everything I’ve read this is a major unresolved issue since 2018

And here is an entire thread about versions of this problem and the various attempted or suggested solutions. None of which seem to work….https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Cursor-randomly-jumps-around-sc...

And here again https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/new-hp-win10-laptop-cursor-randomly-jumps-arou...

But this one claims to have fixed it but when i tried it it still did not resolve the issue.

HP repair offered this as a last resort- claiming that the software HP uses for your cursor is not really your product so you can't really repair it if it is the problem (NOT OKAY!) :

"Synaptics software is created and supported by Synaptics company , the manufacturer of the touchpads.   HP makes the Driver files for OUR hardware so that Windows will work with it and HP also makes some software that tests our hardware but pretty much ALL other software is created and supported by other companies and given to us to host on our Drivers website.   Since you've already turned the sensitivity down all the way and it's still a problem, the issue might be with the Driver (OR, it might have a hardware cause).

Please consider re-installing the touchpad driver, just-in-case that's the problem.   You can re-install that software/driver by downloading the driver from the following website:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-spectre-13-aw0000-x360-convertible-pc-...

Please be sure to restart the PC after successful installation and let me/us know if there's any further issues."

It's NOT the touchpad.

So...................... for a laptop that cost over $1600 can someone PLEASE provide a fix for this insane problem? Has anyone else ever found a solution to this? (and please don't tell me to 'turn off' the touchpad when typing. That's absurd and unworkable when one needs and should expect to be able to move between typing and using the touchpad without an additional step. )

Thank you
