I’ve just got mine yesterday, this issue came up really quick as an obvious flaw. I’m going to have to send it back. What a pity! Took ages to get the features and spec I wanted only to fail in its main feature.

The same here! That is so embarrasing, HP. One of the key features of this device is the tablet mode and I need it a lot. That´s why I bought this device.
If there won´t be a solution for that problem, like a BIOS update or something else, this was the last laptop I bought from HP.
The thread started in May and still only standard anwsers from your side, REALLY!?
Regards
Andi

These steps seem to work to wake the tablet mode and to login to the locked screen.

Just tried this as it should work, but even this didn't work for me. Also, the fingerprint reader is broken again, just immediately fails and doesn't even let you try, even after re-installing the entire OS for the 4th time now...

Not sure what you mean. I have the power settings set to sleep after a relatively short duration. In the computer mode, I hit enter the login screen comes up and I enter a pin. In tablet mode there is no enter to hit. So I after using my instructions below I can wake the computer with the 'Hey Cortana' and I can get to the login screen with Hey Cortana "show pin login screen".
