@Praveen196 I think because my warranty has expired I don't see a number or chat option. Can you share that?

Hi all,

I'm having the exact same issue as described by so many people in this post and the forum. It seems to be a common problem in the Spectre/360 convertible series if I'm reading the posts correctly.

Is anyone aware that this is a know hardware issue? The number of posts makes it seem unlikely that this is a coincidence. Maybe someone from HP can comment on that?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your response! Are you able to provide me with the number to call, please?

Furthermore, can you comment on if HP is aware of any known issues with the hardware?

Thanks a lot!

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Please look for a private message.

Have a nice day!!

Hi community,

Has anyone tried to open the laptop and reconnecting the display ribbon band to see if that helps?

Thanks!

Have you tried changing the refresh rate of the display? Roll back the drivers to the original Intel UHD 620 drivers from 2018 and change the display from 60 to 40 hz refresh. For me, if im on the old drivers and on 40 hz the display works normally. I am also inconsistently still able to get it to work on 60 hz by switching from 40 to 60 at random times. Basically seems like on the old drivers i can always have it working on 40 hz and sometimes it will continue to work if i switch it back to 60 hz. I dont think its something that can be resolved by reseating the display cable but at least this seems to be a temporary work around.

Hi SS77,

Thanks a lot for the input. I tired your suggestion with the up to date drivers. Unfortunately, even at 40Hz the ghosting issue persists.

I was hoping for something I can fix at home. COVID and all slows down the repair chain but also makes my computer indispensable right now. Clinging onto a straw, I was hoping for a loose connection...

Thanks!

Hm I see, are you able to get a decent image at all? For me even on 40 hz i still have the ghosting and streaking as well but it is at least usable for me. If i am on 60 hz I can not even operate the machine without having to connect it to an external monitor as the ghosting makes the screen unrecognizable. It also seems to be coming and going at random and is actually currently working on 60 hz with old drivers (as soon as i update drivers it breaks again). Very bizarre issue.
