Hello Anderjar,

I see that you are having problems with the hard disk not showing a operating system on your HP computer. I would like to help with this issue but I need some information.

Can you provide the model and product number of the computer? Here is a link that shows how to find that information.

Do you have the recovery discs for your computer?

i have this same problem iv done everything i know to do im an IT student. but cant figure out whats wrong iv resetted the hdd and that did not work. the wierd part is i cant get safemode or bios settings to work the laptop turns on and then either displays the error above or just displays nothing. when i press f10 or f 11 at starup for bios settings or repaire it displays on the blank screen on the bottom bios settings or recover pc but it frezes there wont acctually display the bios or anything else.

i have an hp 2000 laptop with windows 8. i think it might be the motherboard but want to be sure before buying one any help would be appresiated. thank you!

I have a HP Envy 15 I got a year a go, wich presents a similar problem. The difference is that it starts on windows and after a while blue screen appears and then the 3F0 error appears.

If I start on safe mode, it works for a longer time (maybe an hour) and then the same blue screen appears, and then the 3F0 error.

It seems that is not a Hard disk error. ¿Any clues?

Thanks!

I think i found the Solution if we both have same problem. i formatted the gpt format of the harddisk to mbr and thats the problem i encountered but for the error its just simple...

steps:

1. go to bios (press esc after you just turn on the pc/laptop/netbook.

2. f10

3. go to boot and enable the legacy format.

4. press f10 to save then exit.

5. at startboot, message will appear for another error

6. do not choose the press esc, instead just type the message and enter the error will be fixed

uefi is for the gpt format, while legacy is for the mbr format. the error appeared because the cpu still dont recognize the format mbr as the default.

hope this will help ^_^_^_^

Hey Brandonmy1none,

I understand you are getting no boot device found on your laptop. Here is a document that will help you resolve this.

Here is a link on cleaning the fans as they can cause this behavior as well. Click on remove dust and lint by cleaning vents.

The Hard Disk Self Test, built into the BIOS of many HP notebook computers could need testing. Here is a list on things to check.

Hope this helps.
